LAHORE: Former president and Co-chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari Saturday said some are trying one gimmick and some another in a bid to become Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
“We could have acted like Imran Khan but we don’t want any chaos in the country,” Zardari said while talking to PPP workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said someone is trying to break the mike while another is taking a ‘Dopatta’ in a futile attempt to become Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto. “Those doing politics under a patronage should now stand on their own feet by learning the ropes,” he advised.
Zardari said Bilawal is his only son, adding there is nothing in the will of Benazir Bhutto about bringing Bilawal into the politics. “How is it possible that the workers keep rendering sacrifices while our kids remain mere spectators,” he said.
He recalled that circumstances did not allow the PPP to run its election campaign during the last general elections, saying the workers kept on receiving threats through phone calls.
