ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office has termed US drone strikes in the tribal areas of Pakistan as ‘unnecessary’ stating that the country is currently conducting an operation against terrorists.
During the weekly Foreign Office news briefing, Spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam condemned the US drone strike in South Waziristan. The spokesperson informed reporters that dialogue over the drone issue was ongoing with the US.
At least four people were killed in a US drone strike in South Waziristan Agency. The attack happened early Thursday in Nargas village of Azam Warsak district, 25 kilometres (15 miles) west of Wana, the main town of South Waziristan tribal region.
