Jihadists threaten to fight Egypt army ´until judgment day´
CAIRO: A jihadist group that has claimed several spectacular attacks on Egyptian security forces on Friday threatened new assaults against the army.

The Sinai-based Ansar Beit al-Maqdis (Partisans of Jerusalem), the most active militant group in Egypt, said it was engaged in a "war without end".

"We will continue to fight the army until the day of judgment," said a recording posted on Twitter by the group that has pledged allegiance to Al-Qaeda.

Ansar Beit al-Maqdis boasts of being behind regular attacks on the security forces since the army ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013.

It says it launches such attacks to avenge pro-Morsi protesters and Islamists who have been ruthlessly repressed by the army ever since.

In the recording, the jihadist group also calls on Egyptians not to let their children enlist in the army which it denounces as "apostate".

The latest threat comes two weeks after a suicide bomber in a vehicle blasted a security checkpoint in the north of the Sinai Peninsula, killing 30 soldiers.

However, no group has yet admitted responsibility for the deadliest attack on the military since Morsi´s overthrow.
