ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Friday said that the process of establishing military courts, in connection with the newly approved National Action Plan (NAP) to eradicate the country of terrorism, is almost completed and they would start functioning soon.
Speaking to media representatives, he said that the scrutiny of the terrorism cases to be referred to the military courts was ongoing, adding that even the number of these special courts has been decided.
The minister also claimed that the credit of holding local government elections in Balochistan goes to the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) federal government. He said that devolving power to the grass-root level was the greatest desire of his party’s government.
Rashid said that the previous two governments of the party had also held local bodies polls in the country.
Criticising Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan over his rigging allegations in the 2013 general election, he said that the truth has been revealed after the recently conclude poll audit in the NA-122 constituency.
"Imran Khan changes statements more frequently than he changes his suit," said the information minister.
Rashid further said that the nation was looking forward to watch proudly their armed forces in the March 23 parade.
