PARIS: Last year´s beaten finalists Atletico Madrid joined Arsenal and Bayer Leverkusen in qualifying for the Champions League knock-out stage on Wednesday.
Spanish champions Atletico crushed Olympiakos 4-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Croatia striker Mario Mandzukic and now need only a point away to Juventus in their final Group A match to secure top spot.
Arsenal beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 thanks to Yaya Sanogo´s first goal for the club and a strike from Alexis Sanchez to join the Germans in progressing from Group D.
Meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Monaco but Zenit St Petersburg´s 1-0 win over Benfica earlier in the day ensured the Germans will take one of the top two places in Group C. (AFP)
