Seven militants killed in Ziarat operation

ZIARAT: At least seven militants were killed during a security forces led operation in the Ziarat area of Balochistan.

According to security sources, the search operation was conducted in Sanjawi after receiving information of the presence of a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan commander in the area. The operation was carried out by intelligence agencies and the FC.

In an exchange of fire during the operation, seven militants were killed while one member of the security forces was injured. The militants were said to be involved in kidnapping for ransom and attacks on security forces.

Assistant Commissioner Sanjawi, Ijaz Sheikh said arms and ammunition were recovered during the operation and the militants killed did not look like locals.
