ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan has forwarded to the Sindh High Court a petition of Muhajir Qaumi Movement's leader Afaq Ahmed on no-go areas in Karachi, Geo News reported on Tuesday.
Talking to media men after appearing before Supreme Court here, Afaq Ahmed said he was ready to even hold a meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain to rid the Karachi of weapons and establishment of peace in the metropolis.
He said according to police reports more than 6000 people were butchered in the last six months alone of the previous year.
Afaq Ahmed alleged that the Sindh Government had displaced files of over 3000 cases that stood reopened after SC verdict on NRO.
He said judiciary was the ultimate institution that could restore the peace of Karachi.
