RAWALPINDI: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Saturday said there was noise of 'thief thief' to shield the real thief.
Addressing the Passing Out Parade ceremony of ASIs held here at Police Training College Sihala, he said that allegations leveled against Nawaz Sharif and Sharif in Mehran Bank scandal are baseless. He pledged to defend all charges of the same kinds, saying it was not yet determined that where this money had come and how and where it was spent.
He said the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is geared up to face Mehran bank scandal, adding nothing had come out of Mehran Bank scandal yet.
Rana Sanaullah said his party would continue raising voice against the corruption, adding the corrupt elements want to further intricate the Mehran bank scandal. He said that nation would punish the thieves in the next general elections.
He said the PML-N will take recourse to the court after the issue regarding political funding in the run up to 1990 elections, is substantiated.
'We will keep on raising our voice against the corruption of President Asif Ali Zardari,' Rana Sana said adding the people involved in ransacking the national institutions are put up hue and cry over Mehran Bank scandal.
He ruled out the impression that recruitment in police department was made on political basis. He said sixteen thousand men were recruited in the police department on merit.
He said holding of early election was not possible because the voters' lists are still incomplete.
He felicitated the ASIs on showing best performance during training and also distributed prizes among them. (PPI)
