AFIC denies Brig Ali's hospitalization
LAHORE: The Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) in its reply submitted to the Lahore High Court (LHC) said Brig Ali Khan had never been hospitalized to the facility, Geo News reported Tuesday.

The LHC has summoned Commandant AFIC for Wednesday.

LHC Rawalpindi bench had sought reply from AFIC on the application of Brig Ali Khan's counsel in which it was stated that Brig Ali, after remaining admitted at AFIC, had been shifted to an unknown location.

The AFIC in its reply submitted through its Deputy Attorney said no one named Brig Ali Khan had ever been admitted to the facility. However, it added that some officials did bring a man of this name to AFIC but they took him back after treatment.

Brig Ali Khan was being tried in military court over treason charges and his alleged links to attacks on Pakistan Army facilities

Brig Khan and four other officers were detained in May, 2011 for suspected links to Hizbut Tahrir. He was working at the army’s headquarters in Rawalpindi at the time of his arrest.
