Loadshedding: Gujranwala cops, protestors clash

GUJRANWALA: GT road Saturday turned into a battlefield when hundreds of riot police resorted to use brute force to disperse thousands of load-shedding-stricken protestors here in Gujranwala, Geo News reported.

According to details desperate local residents form all walks of life took to the GT road condemning the unannounced loadshedding around the clock.

Agitated mob burnt tyres blocking the traffic on the main artery.

Within no time, heavy contingent of riot police armed with firearms and teargas-shell-launchers swooped upon the protestors and there began a cat and mouse game.

Police teargassed the protestors and fired shots in the air apart form making dozens of arrests.
