QUETTA: A shutter down strike would be observed here today (Friday) in protest against the killing of eight people in various firing incidents.
The burial of eight victims would take place today.
On Thursday, some unidentified miscreants opened fire at a vehicle, killing at least five people including a woman and injuring several others at Spini Road in Quetta, deceased were on a car coming from Hazara Town to Quetta.
The incident fomented restlessness among the citizens. Some angry people going on the rampage, opened fire which killed a policeman on the spot and police post was torched by the protesters.
The protesters entered into a school and set fired the girl's school however the students along with their teachers left stranded at the torched government school located at Barori Road.
The case of policeman killing has been registered. Police have also arrested three accused Ghulam Yahya, Zulfiqar and Abdullah.
Hazara Democratic Party and Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party announced to observe strike on Friday. Awami National Party, Tahafuz e Azadaraan council, Balochistan National Party, Jamhuri Watan Party also supported the strike call.
