GILGIT: Curfew remained clamped, mobile phone service suspended, all entry/exit roads closed for the eleventh consecutive day here, while a mourning day on Chilas tragedy is being observed in Skardu and a demo would be staged after Friday prayers, Geo News reported.
Yesterday, three curfew breaks spread over four hours were allowed during which the citizens made purchases of essential items scarcely available besides facing many other difficulties.
Pak Army contingents are patrolling different areas in the city, while for the maintenance of law and order mobile phone service remained suspended and all entry and exit roads from the city have remained closed.
Allsorts of traffics on Shahrah-e-Karakoram also remained suspended for the 11th day.
Following Gilgit and Chilas bedlam, Gazar remains cut off from other cities for the last twelve days, which has resulted in acute shortage of food items and medicines in the local hospitals, while patients suffer.
On the call of Wahdatul Muslimeen, Skardu observing a day of mourning on Chilas tragedy and a protest rally would be taken out after Friday prayers.
