Curfew in Gilgit relaxed for eight hours
GILGIT: Curfew in the violence-hit city has been relaxed for eight hours on Monday, the 14th day on its imposition, while the ban imposed on wearing jackets and shawls and the assembly of two or more persons remained in place.

According to details, in the area, relaxation in curfew commenced from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. Cell phone services also remained suspended.

Following relaxation in the curfew, people came out of their homes and got daily use items and foodstuff.

Security remained tight all over the city with the army was still manning dozens of security pickets and conducting body searches of suspected residents.

Security forces continued search operations on Sunday in various residential areas of the city and arrested dozens of suspects.

The citizens have demanded that the government to take effective action against those involved in target killings and terrorism.
