PESHAWAR: Contempt notices have been issued to DG Civil Aviation Authority and the Defence Secretary by the Peshawar High Court. The court has also issued a show cause notice to the MD of Bhoja Airlines.
The Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Dost Muhammad Khan ordered during the Air Blue compensation case that DG CAA, Nadeem Yousufzai should be suspended and flight operations of Bhoja Airlines should be stopped.
The High Court has further directed that compensation be paid to the families of victims’ of the Air Blue crash within twenty days and if payments were not made then operations of the airline would be stopped.
It was during this case that Justice Dost Muhammad Khan had also ordered the safety audits of airlines three months ago which if implemented could have led to the Bhoja Airline’s crash being avoided.
