Firing incidents claim six lives in Karachi
KARACHI: Reaction of police crackdown against gangsters in Lyari was witnessed in different parts of the city where six people were killed as a result of firing while five vehicles and private property were also torched, Geo news reported.

Police operation against criminals in Lyari continued for fourth consecutive day on Monday. Around a couple of dozen people including a SHO and several other police personnel lost their lives while scores others sustained injuries during the operation.

Leaders and activists of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) fled from various areas of Lyari while offices of the party were also shut. Criminals continued to attack police personnel with rockets, hand grenades and gunshots, resultantly 10 people were wounded on Monday.

Meanwhile, strong protests were witnessed in various areas of the metropolis against the operation to crack down on criminals.

In PIB Colony, unidentified assailants gunned down a water supplier, who was identified as Asif. Meanwhile, in Shershah area, three persons, identified as Rizwan, Junaid Ansari and Ahmed, were shot dead.

Following the killings, angry residents of the area took to the streets and torched 2 buses. Two cars were also set on fire in Federal B Area and Ibrahim Haideri areas.
