ISLAMABAD: Unidentified carjackers killed a policeman after they opened fire on a check-post in the precincts of I-9 police station, Geo News reported Saturday.
According to the sources, the police in the 9th Avenue area were put on alert after a car was jacked from F-10/2.
Reportedly, when the policemen deployed at a checkpost tried to stop a suspicious car similar to the one lifted, the occupants, opened fire at them. As a result, Assistant sub-Inspector Muhammad Asghar died on the spot.
However, the culprits managed to escape from the crime scene. Later, the police recovered the car and registered a case against the criminals.
