MULTAN: Armed decoits escaped with hundreds of thousands rupees in a bank heist in Multan and killed two guards in the process, Geo News reported Wednesday.
According to SSP Operations, the incident took place at 12 noon today in Piran Ghaib area where four armed burglers including two women entered in a bank, held the staff at gunpoint and went on with the loot.
As the robbers made their way out of the bank, the security guard got the chance to open fire on them which was returned by the looters. As a result, a security guard, Muhammad Hassan was gunned down while his associate Bahar Ali sustained serious bullet wounds which proved fatal and he also expired later on.
The eyewitnesses said that the burglers were also in possession of a hand grenade.
Meanwhile, CPO Multan Amir Zulfiqar called out the bomb disposal squad to the spot of the incident where scanning is underway.
