KARACHI: The central and upper areas of the country struck by monsoon system continue receiving showers, while forecast made for rains in the upper Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir< Geo news reported.
Met department said that the upper, central and southern Punjab, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar and Kashmir received rains during the last 24 hours.
A marked seasonal low lies over north Balochistan whereas Tuesday trough of westerly wave over north of Iran now lies over northern parts of Afghanistan. Weather experts have forecast that during next 24-48 hrs scattered dust thunderstorm/rain may occur over Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, north and central Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir.
Rainfall recorded during past 24 hrs Sahiwal 78mm, Tobatek Singh 66, Faisalabad 39, Okara, D.G. Khan 34, Jhang 31, Bhawalnagar 29, Barkhan 20, Abbotababd 19mm, Thal 13, Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin 9, Rawalakot and Bhawalpur 5.
Meanwhile, River Kabul at Nowshera was at low flood level while all the other major rivers were flowing in normal flow. Dams position (0600): Tarbela level:- 1403.15 Feet Max. conservation level: 1550.00 Feet. Mangla Level: 1118.20 Feet, Max conservation level: 1242.00 feet.
