Chairman PCB calls on President Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohammad Zaka Ashraf, called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Tuesday.

Chairman PCB briefed the President- who is also the Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Cricket Board-about his visit to India and the decision of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to resume Cricket ties between Pakistan and India.

Indian Cricket officials said on Monday they had invited Pakistan for a series later this year, the first in five years.

The President while welcoming the decision of BCCI, appreciated the efforts of Chairman PCB for resumption of Pak-India Cricket ties.

The President said that the resumption of sport ties would help promote peace and friendship between the two countries and their people.

He expressed the hope that the resumption of the Cricket would provide an opportunity to the people of the two countries to enjoy some good cricket.
