GHOTKI: The railway traffic resumed after five hours of delay when Pakistan Express was provided with the new engine at Ghotki station Wednesday, Geo News reported.
Earlier, the enraged passengers of Karachi-bound Pakistan Express, who had been struck for several hours at Ghotki Railway Station due to engine failure, halted all railway traffic in its tracks as a protest.
The protesting passengers staged a sit-down on the track by sitting in the way of Business Train, which was on its way to Karachi. As a result, all the up as well as the down railway traffic came to a grinding halt.
Pakistan Railways had to stop 10 trains on the up/down tracks at different stations for more than five hours.
Tezgam and Karachi Express were also forced to pull over at Mirpur Mathelo Railway station while Khyber Mail was red-signalled at the Sarhad Railway Station.
Moreover, engine of Havelian-bound Hazara Express also broke down at Raiti Railway Station and its passengers following the suit of Pakistan Express ones refused to let Tezgam Express leave the platform.
