Quetta power supply restored after 12 hours
QUETTA: According to Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) the power supply in Balochistan’s capital has been restored after 12 hours, Geo News reported.

Earlier, Quetta remained plunged into darkness for the last more than 12 hours after a major fault hit the main transmission line from Guddu Power Station Wednesday evening.

According to sources in Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), it took like 12 hours before the engineers could trouble-shoot the fault that caused the shutdown around 6:00 PM.

The fault had affected around 20 different districts of the city. Efforts were afoot to restore the electric supply to the districts, which were still out power, QESCO sources told Geo News.

Sources also added that a local powerhouse in Quetta was engaged to partially restore power supply in the city, but it tripped soon after owing to overload.

Moreover, there had been reports that insurgents have blown up an 11,000 KV transmission line in Dasht area.
