KASUR: The Rangers seized heroin worth Rs2.5 billion in a village near Kasur, a city that borders with India, here on Saturday.
Sources told Geo News that Rangers on a tip-off conducted a raid in Mahalam Khurd, a small village, which resulted in the arrest of a man named Allah Ditta.
The accused soon snapped under the tough interrogation of the Rangers personnel and lead them to a cache of heroin hidden in a plastic drum. The narcotic weighed in about 51 kilograms and was estimated to have a value of Rs2.5 billion in the international market.
Allah Ditta also revealed that the leaders of this smuggling ring two Safdar Dogar and Munir.
According to the smuggler in the custody of Rangers, the narcotic recovered was supposed to be smuggled to India.
Rangers have formed teams to arrest the rest of the smugglers.
