ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Tuesday accepted the invitation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for roundtable conference on issues confronting the country.
A delegation of the MQM comprising its parliamentary leader in the National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar, deputy parliamentary leader in the National Assembly Haider Abbas Rizvi, Raza Haroon, Sarfraz Nawaz and other leaders held a meeting with Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, PML-Q secretary general Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and other senior leaders here Tuesday at the residence of Chaudhry Shujaat.
The meeting continued for more than one hour during which issues confronting the country were discussed.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Chaudhry Shujaat appreciated the MQM to convene the meeting at this juncture of time and said that the PML-Q will participate in the proposed roundtable conference. “The issue of Balochistan will be the agenda of the roundtable conference,” he said.
Chaudhry Shujaat said during the meeting, the MQM gave viable proposals for ending power loadshedding, terrorism and other issue that the country was facing. “We heard their proposals and also gave our recommendations to face these challenges,” he added.
