ISLAMABAD: Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik on Wednesday directed his legal counsel to serve a defamation notice of Rs 10 billion to Punjab Law Minister for levelling false allegations in the passport scam.
In a statement issued here, Rehman Malik said Rana Sanaullah levelled wrong and baseless allegations against him just to please his party leadership.
The Interior Advisor said those who had helped "The Sun" newspaper in anti-state activities have been ordered to be put on Exit Control List besides initiating legal action against them.
He said the timely and strict action by the government has exposed the conspiracies against the country.
"Anyone involved in this conspiracy would be taken to task," Rehman Malik added.
In this regard, he said Federal Investigation Agency and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have been directed to find out the actual facts behind the scam so as to avert recurrence of such conspiracies in future.
