QUETTA: The doctors in all major hospitals across Quetta are observing strike for the second consecutive day to protest the kidnapping of Surgeon Dr Din Muhammad Bangulzai Saturday, Geo News reported.
Due to doctors’ strike, eye operations scheduled at Helper’s Eye Hospital and LRBT Eye Hospital were also cancelled while patients from far-flung areas also faced severe difficulties.
On the call of Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Balochistan, doctors boycotted outdoor patient departments (OPDs) of government and private hospitals including Sandeman Civil Hospital, Bolan Medical College (BMC) Hospital, Shaikh Zaid Hospital and Benazir Shaheed Hospital on Friday. However, emergency centers and operation theaters (OTs) remained open.
The protesting doctors demanded for earliest possible recovery of the abducted doctor Bangulzai.
Dr Bangulzai was kidnapped by unknown assailants from the Ganji Dori near Lak Pass in district Mastung on Sunday.
