President Zardari chairs meeting on energy crisis

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari expressing concerns over prolong and unannounced gas and power load shedding in the country has directed the relevant ministries to ensure smooth supply of electricity during sehri and iftar.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Asif Ali Zardari here on Monday to review energy crisis in the country.

Prime Minister Raja Parvaiz Ashraf, Minister for Water and Power, Finance Minister and Advisor on Petroleum among secretaries of relevant ministries were also present in the meeting.

The president directed the ministries to take effective measures for bringing transparency in equal distribution of power across the country.

Minister for Water and Power Ahmed Mukhtar and Advisor on Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain gave briefing in the meeting.
