KARACHI: Five more peacocks died in Tharparkar on Monday, taking the death toll across Sindh in one month to 198, Geo News reported.
The viral disease named ‘Ranikhet’ is wreaking havoc especially in Tharparkar, and has not been controlled as yet.
On Monday, one peacock died at Goth Malsario, one at Samorand, one at Sobharo and two at Seniharnangar, which has taken the death toll in district Tharparkar alone to 172, while across Sindh it has reached 198.
The Wildlife department said this disease has duration of 2 to 18 days, but despite passage of one month the death of peacocks’ from this disease hasn’t stopped.
