Toxic liquor kills 4 in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Four people have so far been killed in two days as a result of consuming poisonous liquor while the number people affected by hit over 50 in Hosri area of Hyderabad.

According to police, two affected people had died earlier while as many others breathed their last today, raising the number of total deaths from toxic liquor consumption to 4.

MS Rural Health Centre, Dr Riaz Qureshi said three women among 52 people got sick after consuming the liquor and out of them condition of 20 is still serious.

Deputy Commissioner Agha Shah Nawaz said a team of doctors has been dispatched to the area to examine the condition of affectees.

According to SSP Pir Fareed Jan Sarhandi, four policemen including SHO Hosiri had been suspended after the incident.
