KARACHI: A large number of people living Karachi are leaving for their native towns to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and the transporters taking full advantage of the situation are fleecing them before Eid-ul-Fitr by charging extra fares.
All bus and wagon terminals are jam packed with passengers as people are leaving for their native towns to celebrate Eid.
People are travelling through buses and wagons because of uncertain situation of trains.
The passengers were seen wandering from terminal to terminal to find seats in the buses and wagons.
The passengers at bus stands complained that the transporters are overcharging big time.
They said that transporters are taking full advantage of special occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and demanding higher fares but concerned authorities are doing nothing in this regard.
"The government should arrange special trains and buses at least on special occasions like Eid to provide relief to the public", a passenger demanded.
Another said that transporters are charging full seat fare for luggage. They are also charging full seat ticket for a kid as well, he added.
