SHC CJ takes notice of pillion riding arrests

KARACHI: The Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Mushir Alam has taken notice of hundreds of arrests made in violation of pillion riding ban here.

Justice Alam has directed all magistrates to visit police stations and order the release of those arrested.

Chief Justice Mushir Alam also ordered that no accused could spend a night in police custody. He directed magistrates to issue release orders on easy conditions, adding that the accused be released on the basis of their CNIC if needed.

Police had made several arrests following the ban on pillion riding placed by the Sindh government in Karachi.
