KARACHI: All the major markets of the provincial metropolis are witnessing large crowds of people, with an overwhelming majority of women and children, following the sighting of moon for Eid-ul-Fitr, to be celebrated on Monday.
People of all ages have thronged to the malls and shopping plazas to give final touches to their Eid kits to look their best on Eid day. Girls and children can be seen in large numbers around shops of bangles and Mehndi while beauty parlors have made special arrangements for applying Mehndi on girls' hands.
Bakers and shops of Mithai (sweets), the most essential item of 'Meethi Eid', are also attracting big crowds of customers who are buying various kinds of sweets and other items to serve the visiting guests on Eid.
Road side stalls have also been set up in all the areas to cater to the people belonging to low-income groups.
No matter if one is rich or poor, the celebration is in swing for all because Meethi Eid comes only once in a year.
