AJK villagers shoot a leopard dead BHIMBAR: Locals shot dead a leopard when it tried to enter a village here on Sunday, Geo News reported.
Azad Jammu & Kashmir is home to two of the world’s big cats, the common leopard (Panthera pardus) and the snow leopard (Uncia uncia), a cat so secretive few have been privileged enough to get a glimpse of it in the wild.
Reportedly, the killing to an endangered animal came to pass after a couple of them, a male and a female, showed up in Khadorda village in Bhimbar.
The leopardess dodged the bullets and escaped.
According to locals these leopards had hunted down three of their cattle thus they deserved it.
