BANNU: The polling for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly's seat from constituency KP-70, Bannu, in the by-election ended at its time and the counting of votes has began here Tuesday, Geo News reported.
According to unofficial results of polling station 50, Irfanullah Durrani, candidate Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) is leading after taking 683 votes, while independent candidate Rehmatullah has got 10 votes.
The seat fell vacant after the sudden death of Ziad Akram Durrani.
The JUI-F candidate Irfanullah Durrani is taking part in the by-polls by representing an only political party as the remaining four others candidates are independent.
Other candidates in the run are Malik Mohammad Ashfaq, Malik Saadullah Khan, Zafar Ali Khan, Sadiqur Rehman and Rehmatullah alias Kaka Jan.
The polling concluded amid tight security arrangements.
