Man attempts self-immolation in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: A man tried to commit suicide by setting himself on fire after his wife refused to return home, Geo News reported Wednesday.

According to rescue sources, a man named Mohammad Shafeeq went to his in-laws to bring back his annoyed wife who refused to come along with her husband.

Disappointed over the situation, Shafeeq committed self-immolation and was admitted to Allied Hospital in critical condition. Doctors told that he has received third degree burns as 90 percent of his body has burnt.

Family sources told that Shafeeq is a dental technician and his wife is a schoolteacher who went to her parents’ house after some domestic dispute. The couple has three children.
