KARACHI: Heavy rain in most of the areas of the provincial capital has left many thoroughfares and streets inundated with water, causing severe hardship to the commuters.
According to resources, roads in various parts of Karachi including University road, Hassan Square, Nipa and people secretariat and Nazimabad are giving the look of rivers following torrential rains that started in the morning and continued throughout the day with brief intervals.
The accumulation of water on roads and streets caused grid locks in many areas, as scores of vehicles broke down in the middle of roads and the riders had to push them aside with the help of passers by. This made it difficult for the commuters to get from one point to the other and it took them hours to reach their respective destinations.
