ISLAMABAD: Secretary General of the South Asian Free Media Association (SAFMA) Imtiaz Alam has said that the closure of the Information Ministry’s secret fund is a breath of fresh air.
He further said that the decision to reduce visa procedures of India and Pakistan is encouraging but further relaxations should be made for journalists.
Talking at a news conference in Islamabad Imtiaz Alam said that there should be a SAARC sticker visa between the SAARC countries. He was of the view that there is no hatred between the people of the two countries and there was a need of organized communication at public level between SAARC countries for peace and stability in the region.
He also told reporters that a meeting between over 300 journalists from SAARC countries would be held in Amritsar in November.
