Seven more shot dead in Karachi violence
KARACHI: Seven more people including former commissioner of income tax were killed in ongoing incidents of violence and killings in the metropolis, Geo news reported.

According to the police, unidentified assailants opened fire near Lee Market, located at Old City Area, killing one person.

Earlier, a man named Iqbal was killed in a firing incident in Manghopir area.

A schoolteacher named Abdul Ghaffar was gunned down near Mirza Adam Khan road area of Lyari.

In North Nazimabad, a college student was shot dead while two others sustained injuries near Golden Gate area. The deceased was identified as Umair Haider.

A dead body was found in Orangi Town.

Police said that former income tax commissioner Mumtaz Shakh was injured when unidentified armed men opened fire at his car. He was moving from his residence. located in Defence phase IV, to his office.

He was taken to the hospital in Defence area where he succumbed to his injuries, police added.
