HYDERABAD: Rain lashed parts of Sindh including Hyderabad, receiving a cloudburst of up to 39 millimeters (mm), Metrological office said.
Hyderabad received rain on Saturday after 4pm which lasted for several hours, damaging 84 drainage pumping stations and generators.
Rainwater stood up to 2 to 3 feet in Latifabad # 2, 10, 11, 12, Pathan Colony, Qazi Abdul Qayyum Road, Hali Road, Makki Shah, Phelaili, Qasimabad, cantonment area among various other areas.
At least 15 power feeders were also tripped due to the rainfall while two women among five people fell prey to the electric current.
Deputy Commissioner Agha Shahab Durrani said that emergency has been imposed across the district and leaves of rescue team members have also been cancelled.
Meanwhile, Provincial Disaster Management Authority has predicted more rains in the district.
