DERA GHAZI KHAN: Dera Ghazi Khan received heavy rainfalls, triggering out rush in the nullahs after which the rainwater is entering the city and affecting thousands of people.
Dera Ghazi Khan Administration has also declared a state of emergency. The power supply to the city also got suspended, irking the dwellers.
Meanwhile, Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Tariq Mehmood said that the situation in the city was already predicted and relief operation is underway. He said that five thousand people have been shifted to safe places.
The flood and rainwater is entering the house located in Gao Shala, Railway Pali and their adjoining areas.
According to the sources, the administration have not begun the search operation yet, however Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan said that water level in the city is decreasing.
He said that the relief operation has been continuing since morning and people are being shifted to safe places.
The commissioner said that relief camps are working and affected people are being shifted to the camps set up in schools and colleges.
Almost 400 people are still suffering the ills of flood and they will be rescued soon, he added.
