ISLAMABAD: Issuing contempt notices to the concerned officials for not implementing its orders in Rental Power Projects (RPPs) case, the Supreme Court has summoned Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Admiral (Retd) Fasih Bukhari, Geo News reported Friday.
Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry is heading the three-member bench hearing the case.
During Friday's hearing, NAB’s Deputy Prosecutor General, Fauzi Kazmi, prayed to the honourable court to allow an in-camera hearing for he had some classified disclosures to make. CJP, rejecting his entreaty, said only those cases, which pertain to national security, are heard in-camera.
“To ensure transparency this case shall be heard in a regular session”, the CJP said.
Later, the SC issued show-cause notices to all the NAB officials involved in the case since March 30. The show-caused officers, which include Colonel (Retd) Shahzad, Karman Qaiser, Raza Khan, and all the other supervisors have been given seven-days to submit written replies.
CJP, adjourning the case till September 25, warned that NAB chief and all the supervisors will be held responsible if any of the show-caused officials absconded.
