TEHRAN: An unpleasant incident was witnessed during an Asian Football Champion’s League match in Iran when a hand grenade exploded in the ground.
According to details, during the quarterfinal match between Saudi Arabia and Iran a hand grenade landed near the players and the management team. One of the players unaware of what it was picked it up and threw it out of the playing area and after a few seconds it blew up.
As soon as the grenade went off there was chaos everywhere and the match was immediately abandoned, however none of the players, members of management teams or the spectators were hurt.
