Gunned down police officer's funeral prayer offered

KARACHI: The funeral prayer of the Landhi Juvenile Jail’s Assistant Superintendent Pir Masood was offered Sunday morning here, while his burial would take place at his native town Shikarpur, Geo News reported.

Landhi Juvenile Jail’s Assistant Superintendent Pir Massod and Landhi Jail’s Deputy Superintendent Abdul Razzaq Abbasi were Saturday night gunned down in unknown persons’ firing at Nipa Chowrangi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal here.

Razzaq Abbasi’s body has been sent to his native place at Sehwan, while Pir Masood’s funeral prayer was offered at Central Jail here.

Sindh Minister for law, parliamentary affairs and prisons, Ayaz Soomro, I.G. prisons Gulzar Ahmad Channa and other high officials also attended the funeral ceremony.

Guard of honour was presented after the funeral prayer of the jail officers.

Talking to media on this occasion, Ayaz Soomro announcing the compensations to the heirs of the martyred police officers besides jobs said that the incident was being investigated by the high police officials.
