ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Wednesday brushed aside as wrong the impression that Balchistan people do not listen to the national anthem, saying Baloch people love Pakistan as much as a citizen of any other province does.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Supreme Court Bar Association Complex, the CJP said the Supreme Court wanted to ensure the supremacy of law but it is being noticed that the rule of law is being attacked from many directions.
"It is the Constitution itself that lends authority to the Supreme Court," he said, adding there should be a judicial system in the country that could remain awake towards delivery of justice.
He asserted that the judiciary must stay independent to ensure a true democratic system in the country.
