OGRA orders supply cut to defiant CNG stations
ISLAMABAD: The government took serious notice of the closure of CNG stations, following a slash in the per kilo price of CNG by Rs30.90, Geo News reported.

Advisor petroleum, Dr. Asim Hussain said that keeping CNG stations shut or selling CNG at the previous price was contempt of court. The advisor taking notice of this development directed OGRA to activate its inspection teams and find out as to why several CNG stations remained closed. He said that this was tantamount to contempt of court and such CNG stations’ licenses could be cancelled.

Meanwhile, OGRA has already directed the gas distribution companies to disconnect supply of gas to all such CNG stations not selling CNG at the new prices fixed by the Supreme Court and later notified by OGRA.

On the other hand, All Pakistan CNG Association’s chairman, Ghayas Paracha has advised CNG stations’ owners to start selling CNG at the new prices facilitating their customers during Eidul Azha days. The Association after Eid holidays will present its viewpoint before the Supreme Court and OGRA to get their grievances redressed.
