QUETTA: Criticizing the MQM’s referendum on Quaid-e-Azam’s or Taliban’s Pakistan, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said sparking such debate was tantamount to jeopardize the system in place, Geo News reported.

Speaking at a press conference flanked by Senator Abdul Ghaffoor Haidri, he said that the much debated statements of the chief justice and the army chief were scheduled.

He demanded of US President Barrack Obama to expedite drawdown of military from Afghanistan.

Earlier, speaking to reporters at the Quetta airport, the maulana said that parliament’s policies should be respected by all the institutions. To run the government was right of people and their representative instead of the judiciary and the army.

He said the steps army and the judiciary were now taking should have been earlier. To a question regarding US election, the JUI-F chief said it would not make any difference as the Pentagon was the origin of Washington’s policies.
