Target killings continue in Karachi, 5 more killed
KARACHI: As target killings does not seem to spare the citizens, five persons lost their lives in the on-going spate of violence in the financial hub since morning, Geo News reported Wednesday.

According to police, unknown gunmen killed Ghulam Muhammad in Sultanabad area of Manghopir who was the resident of Kotri.

Saifullah was targeted and killed in Korangi C area by unidentified attackers while at the same time, Qari Muhammad Imran was also gunned down at Nishtar Road in Jamshed Quarter area. Both the victims were believed to be the members of the same religious group. Tension has gripped the areas adjoining Teen Hati, Lasbela and Jahangir Road while the traffic police has advised the commuters to take alternate routes.

In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, two persons were killed in New Karachi and and Orangi Town.

Police said a man was shot dead near Bashir Chowk in New Karachi. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained. In another incident, a man unidentified as Shujaat was gunned down by unknown outlaws in Orangi Town.

On Tuesday, five people were killed in ongoing violence in the city.

Meanwhile, Rangers carried out targeted operation in various areas and apprehended more than a dozen suspects. Sources told that a target killer was arrested from Baldia Town No. VII. Paramilitary force also recovered weapon from his custody. The accused were said to have affiliation with banned outfit.

LEAs also conducted raids in Landhi, Mujahid Colony, Baldia Town and Chanesar Goth and held 12 accused and recovered arms.
