KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary Wasim Ahmed on Friday came up with a briefing regarding law and order in Sindh and Karachi that shocked members of Sindh cabinet, Geo News reported.
The secretary claimed that there was no single case of kidnapping for ransom in Karachi while crime rate in the metropolis was less than that of Faisalabad, an industrial city of Punjab province.
He further said that there were no robberies taking place on the high ways of the province. The briefing prompted the cabinet members to harshly criticise the secretary. They said that dacoits had placed Light Machineguns in Dadu district while the secretary said nothing was happening in the province.
Sources said that Sharmila Farooqui, Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, burst into tears while discussing law and order in Karachi.
