PESHAWAR: Khyber Pukhtunkhwa Government has decided to suspend mobile service for two days on Ashura in six districts of the province in order to avoid any terrorist incidents in sensitive cities.

The home and tribal affairs department has proposed that mobile service in Peshawar region should be suspended from 24 to November while in Kohat it had also been proposed that cellular phone service
should be suspended for three days from seven to 10th Muharram, however the government had dropped the idea due to certain reasons.

Instead the government has decided to suspend the mobile service in six sensitive regions for two days to avoid terrorist incidents.

Mobile services will be suspended from 6:00 AM 9th Muharram to 11:00 PM 10th Muharram.

The Khyber Pukhtunkhwa government through the federal government has requested the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority to suspend mobile service in Peshawar, Kohat, D.I.Khan, Tank, Mansihra and Haripur.

Home department has also requested the PTA to strictly ban the sell of unregistered mobile SIMS at shops.
