Police powers for FC in Quetta expire

QUETTA: The police powers granted to the Frontier Corps (FC) have expired today (Monday), Geo News reported Sunday.

According to the Balochistan Home Secretary, the expiry date will not be extended any further. However, he added that the provincial government has not made any decision in this regard.

Itt is pertinent to mention here that the FC were granted police powers for the first time on September 2 this year for two months which upon expiry were extended by the Federal government for one more month till December 2, 2012. The extension was also endorsed by the provincial cabinet.
