Form medical board for Mumtaz Qadri check up: IHC
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday ordered to form a medical board for undertaking a health examination of Mumtaz Qadri, the security guard who gunned down Punjab governor Salman Taseer in broad daylight in January 2011.

A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Iqbal Hamid-ur-Rehman and Justice Ahmed Khan heard the petition filed by Mumtaz Qadri's counsel.

The petition said the health condition of Mumtaz Qadri was deteriorating in Adyala Jail with the passage of time, requesting the court to order formation of a medical board to perform his medical examination.

However, according to the report presented before the court by the prison's doctor, Qadri's health condition is satisfactory.

The court disposed of the petition by ordering the Executive Director PIMS to form the medical board comprising a cardiologist, dentist and general physician.
